Thank you so much for your interest in my photography classes!
My classes are geared towards busy women, most of us are moms, so there isn't a lot of pressure or a ton of homework or reading.
The instruction is done vial emailed tutorials. Each week there will be three assignments, two technical and one creative. Assignments are posted in my Flickr Group where I will comment on each image you post - mostly constructive criticism and a lot of encouragement.

What my students are saying... Faith, I just want to say your class has been one of the best classes I have ever taken in photography. I have taken one other class about turning to manual but didn't truly get a lot of the stuff that the teacher was explaining. It just wasn't clicking, so I ended up taking your class and your explanation of the features of our camera and how to use our cameras was so easy and simple to understand that it just clicked with me, I mean I truly got it. I am no longer scared of going into manual mode in fact that is almost 95% of what I shoot in now. I used to use auto because it was so easy and I "thought" it took good pictures, but once I understood manual I realized I loved that I was more in control of my settings and how good my pictures would turn out. I now have way more flexibility with just how creative I can be and to do what I feel will look the best. Thank you so much for making your workshops affordable and easy to understand. I really truly do appreciate it! Thanks sooo much! Amy

Thank you so much Faith! your feedback and encouragement are awesome! I am loving your course so much already. I already know that I will be taking the next one as well :) Thanks again! Kristin
I feel like I have learned so much!! I love the fact I am improving my photography!! Jenna
I just wanted to thank you for stopping by to check out my new photo site... I should also mention that you played a large roll in all of this. Had I not taken your Manual class back in September, my photography would surely be much farther behind. Who knows when I would have had the courage or patience to try and learn it myself. Your class was exactly what I needed. You are a fantastic teacher, and should be very proud of all of the work that you do. So thank you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent. Tricia
Thank YOU for the class! I am so excited to finally have a better idea of how to use my camera. I don't want to use the auto mode again! I have a lot of practicing to do, but even if the few short weeks since the class started I'm getting more and more comfortable with what settings to use. I plan to take more classes from you, Kara
Thanks Faith. My friends and family are enjoying seeing the new pictures I've been taking, although I have been driving my husband a little nuts. I ask for his opinion a lot and he's no help at all. He can't believe I take (sometimes) hundreds of pictures to find a few that I like and might have potential. But I love it and he's happy that I found something that I really am enjoying. Dawn
It's amazing what you learn from other students and from wonderful teachers. They have insight and constructive criticism.. something an artist always needs. I have done a fair share of learning (and hopefully teaching) during the last two weeks, helping me focus on the nitpicky things that really make or break a photo.. regardless of what your inner style may be. So, thank you Faith for hosting this class! I definitely plan on taking the next. Claire
It is seriously one of the coolest things I've ever participated in. If you are at ALL interested in photography, please sign up! The rates are so affordable and she is so accessible and in tune with her students. Her assignments are fun and challenging, I'm only in my first week and I've learned SO much already. Chana
I feel as though I have learned so much from this class, and for that I want to say thank you! I signed up for the next class, and am looking forward to it! Dawn
I hesitated over whether or not to take your class -- I was drawn to it because it was inexpensive, but then I wondered what would I really get for [so little] . And then this was your first time doing such a class so I had nothing to go on as to what it would be like. I had also just bought some photography books and figured I could learn the same things from them so maybe I shouldn't spend anymore money right now. In the end my decision was made based on the fact that it was being done in a group and I need interaction with other people -- I do learn a lot from reading, but there is just something about interacting with others as they are learning the same things that has a real benefit. On the very first day I was glad for my decision -- the lesson sounded simple enough, but was actually a challenge for me to accomplish and I learned a lot from it. I really did not understand the whole idea of light which is really so very basic to photography. Thank you for putting me on the right path to learning more about light. Then the assignment to gather pictures that inspire me -- I really had my doubts that I could do that -- I wasn't sure what I was inspired by, but as I worked on it I was amazed at what I learned about myself. I am very happy that I signed up and would highly recommend it. Thank you for taking the risk of teaching this class -- you are doing a great job and I am sure with experience you will get even better. Betty Anne
Lynda also wrote a blog post about her experience

Hey Faith I just wanted to say thank you for what you taught me gosh it must have been nearly 18 months ago. I have just spent the past 5 weeks touring the outback in Australia and not once did I use the auto setting on the camera - it was manual the whole way. As a result of what you taught me I was able to compensate for the harsh yet beautiful light the outback gives us. So a big thank you to you
ReplyDeleteI am wondering about your simply style bundle with the simply SLR... Will both classes be taught at the same time in Feb? Thanks! Jen
ReplyDeleteI know I asked a question, but I really didn't want my e-mail out there so...
The classes are taught sequentially - not simultaneously! :)
ReplyDeleteQuick question: about your photoshop elements class: when in the fall do you plan on starting the class? Trying to plan
